Movement matters / evidence and everyday life

More than fitness.
Strength for life.

A calmer mind. More energy. A better connection with your body. Regular movement can support mental and metabolic health. It is not about a perfect workout. It is about activity you want to return to — at your pace, with thoughtful support.

01 / DEPRESSION

A small step.
Meaningful support.

Physical activity can help reduce symptoms of depression. A review of 218 randomised trials found benefits from activities including walking, running and strength training. The activity and plan should fit the individual and their treatment.

02 / STRESS

Room to breathe.
Not another obligation.

Movement can help ease psychological distress and anxiety symptoms. An overview of 97 research reviews supports its role in adult wellbeing. Consistency should support everyday life, not become another source of pressure.

Research: BJSM, 2023 ↗
03 / OBESITY

Health is more than
a number on a scale.

Movement supports fitness and body composition. A meta-analysis of 116 trials in adults with overweight or obesity found benefits from aerobic training for waist circumference and body fat. Obesity is a chronic disease that calls for comprehensive care, without judgement.

Let’s talk about a good starting point →

Physical activity may support treatment, but does not replace diagnosis, psychotherapy or medication. If you experience depression symptoms or have a long-term health condition, consult a doctor or psychologist. Adapt exercise and intensity to your health and professional advice.

Understanding the figures and evidence

We show the WOBASZ3 result published by the Ministry of Health and patients receiving NFZ-funded care, not an estimate of all depression cases. The measures are not directly comparable. Research reviews describe average effects in study populations, not guaranteed individual outcomes; certainty of evidence varies.

Figures reflect the publications listed above and include check dates. They are not updated automatically. New reports may use different methods and require review before being combined.
